Sebasticook Lake is a top spot for fishing in Central Maine. The lake is home to top catches, including large-mouth bass and perch. You have several options when it comes to fishing at the lake. You can rent a boat or kayak or cast your line right from our docks. The lake stretches across more than 2,400 acres, so there’s plenty of fish out there, prime to catch.

Floating Along

If fishing isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy the water in other ways at the lake. The boat launch is located in Newport, Maine. There’s also a dedicated launch for non-motorized vessels like canoes and kayaks. You can bring your own boat or rent a pontoon to drift out onto the water. The campground charges a minimal nightly fee and can accommodate tents and RVs. There’s also a dedicated camping area for equestrians. Full hook-up sites are available with sewer, water, and electricity. Book early since these sites tend to go fast. Enjoy a campfire as part of your evening since Maine nights can get chilly, even in the summer.

Wildlife Watching

If you’re an animal lover, you can head to the lake to view the incredible wildlife in their natural habitats. For birding, waterfowl are popular, with sightings of ruddy ducks, diving ducks, yellowlegs, and pectoral sandpipers. Spotted salamanders and wood turtles are also commonplace at the lake.
